| Just a few photos and
notes from the DRFC Singers Tour of York City & Tadcaster, we were
invited to sing at the Riley Smith Hall Tadcaster the proceeds going
towards the cost of the refurbishment of this beautiful little
theatre/community hall. |
Dai Vaughan had made the arrangements which coincide with (don't laugh it's true)York City Lesbian Festival, we were not invited to any of their celebrations but did have on Thursday an educational tour of Samuel Smith's Brewery in Tadcaster together with an evening meal and a sample of their ales - which are excellent. |
Friday we gave the concert which was warmly received by the locals this was notable for the first appearance of Paul Piper in Choir Attire - he has at last seen the light!! Martin " Butcher" Jones gave an excellent rendition of Myfanwy and then featured in a comical duet of the "Bold Gendarmes" with his cousin Geoff "Effie" Evans, Dai Vaughan was his inimitable self as compere , comedian, ventriloquist and interpreter. |
| Saturday the choir gave a 20
minute rendition in York Minster Abbey which was well received by the
Bishop and all the Japanese ,American etc., tourists the choir was conducted by the bubbling T.Brian Bevan and accompanied by our guest from Llantrisant Geraint Bessant(he is the guy asleep sitting next to "Butcher" on the bus - our thanks to these guys for making this tour such a success. |
There are plans to return up North so any would be choristers please contact Dai or Buzzer Bevan for your voice test remember even Paul Piper has seen the error of his ways and bought a few Choir CD's to practise with. |
