Clydach v Dunvant

Ralphy won the toss and elected to field. Clydach started really well and after 10 overs were 52 for 1, this was due to some fine batting from Favas 26 before being caught and bowled by Ryan Howell and I Evans 17 who was run out thanks to some sharp fielding. C Donne and C Hanny added 10 each but thanks to some tight bowling and good catches Clydach were restricted to 90 for 8 in their 20 overs. The wicket takers for Dunvant were Tim Rees 2wickets for 7 runs in 2 overs, Andy Jones 2 wickets for 16 runs in 4 overs, Ryan Howell 2 wickets for 11 runs in 4 overs and 1 wicket for 15 runs in 4 overs for Johnny Welch
In reply Dunvant opened with Liam Brown and Michael Arnold, Liam went cheaply for 5 in the 5th over and John Arnold went for a duck with the next ball, Rob John went for 3 in the next over. The ship was steadied a bit with Michael getting to 14 before dropping his bat hesitating a fraction and got run out, Tim Rees added 11 runs. Gareth John a quickfire 14 with 2 fours and a six. Ryan Howell went for a duck by which time we were getting a bit concerned as the Clydach bowlers were bowling very accurately. Then THATS MY BOY Lee Tucker came to the wicket and added 23no to see the club home, but not before losing two partners in Ralph Richards 4 and Andy Jones 6. He saw us home with last man in Johnny Welch who survived a loud appeal for lbw which set both sides hearts racing. Lee hit a 2 to win the game in the 19th over. For this performance he was awarded Man of The Match. Well done and as Liz said THATS MY BOY, which everybody in Clydach heard.
