Dunvant v Penllergaer

Dunvant won the toss and elected to bat. Penllergaer who could only manage to field 9 players had to work very hard in the field on a very hot day. We lost openers Owen Lewis 16 and skipper Ralph Richards 4 by the 6th over, both bowled by Jatan. The ship was steadied by Shane Pienaar 83 which included 8 fours and 2 sixes. Ryan Howell went for a duck by the 8th over. Lee Tucker 49 joined Shane and between them had a partnership of 118. Ceri Phillips went for 7 ironically caught by their wicket keeper. Tim Rees scored 51no 3 fours and 2 sixes and Gareth John 12 no in 4 balls 1 four and 1 six. Ralph decided 298 for 6 should be enough and declared in the 36th over. The main wicket taker for Penllergaer was Jatan with 10 overs 4 wickets for 57 runs.
In reply Penllergaer could only muster 47 all out in the 26th over. A Thomas 15 and C Hill 7 were the main run getters for Penllergaer. The bowlers who did the damage were skipper Ralph with 3 wickets for 10 runs in 5 overs and 2 each for Tim Rees 2 wickets for 3 runs in 5 overs and Gareth John 2 wickets for 7 runs in 3.4 overs.
