Dunvant 1st v Penlan

Penlan batted first and due to some tight bowling by the wily Ralph Richards 8 overs for 17 runs and John Arnold 8 overs for 25 runs with one wicket, made it difficult for Penlan. After 20 overs they were only 53 runs for one. Then Neil Thomas came in a knocked an aggressive 72no which included two 6,s, he was backed up by Darren Jones 22no one 6. They finished up on 195 for 4. The other batsmen for Penlan were Keith Norwood 35, Richard Harris 19, Mark Davies 18 and Steve Slade 14. Martin Newbury taking 2 wickets for 41 and Dai Howell 1 wicket for 39.

In reply Dunvant started quickly and after 20 overs were 101. This was due to Owen Lewis 25 and a magnificent partnership of 120 with Toby Davies 48 and Richard Lewis 91 a tremendous innings with shots all round the ground which included two sixes and seven fours. The winning runs were got by skipper Lee Tucker 17no. Dunvant finished up on 198 for 4.
