Back rower Ben Davies emerged from a competitive field to be named Dunvant Youth Player of the year at a gala, COVID-secure awards ceremony at Broadacre on Friday night.
Despite a lot of other candidates for the top award, including Jay Aden, Iwan 'Subo' Buckley, Jack Coker, Morgan Jones, Liam Mannings and Ryan Stagg, Davies was the chosen winner.
Davies figured strongly throughout a truncated season which promised much but because of the pandemic prevented the squad from turning a number of strong performances into notable silverware.
In his end of season round-up, head coach Rob Murphy said he was convinced that if the season had not been cancelled that his Youth side would have picked up at least one trophy for their efforts.
In other awards Liam Manning took away the Coaches' player of the season award, while Ryan Stagg picked up the Newcomers' award for a number of strong performances in his rookie season with the Youth, and Morgan Jones was presented with the Most Improved Player award.
The Clubman award went to captain Iwan 'Subo' Buckley, while the Dick of the Season award was won by Luke Wells.
