We last met the Wanderers in 2010-11 with Dunvant’s first journey into Division 3 West, whilst we finished 3rd that season Wanderers were relegated to Division 4. Both teams are now deservedly in Division 1 West, Dunvant lying in 1st place with a 13 point lead after Friday’s 85-39 win over Tenby United. Wanderers last game was also against Tenby three weeks ago where they won 15-31 at Heywood Road. Wanderers are comfortable in 6th place with 7 wins and 2 draws from 16 played. Although Wanderers have won 5 home games from 8 ,their home form in 2016 has only seen a 6-6 draw with Llangennech on 2nd January and an 8-16 loss to Loughor on 23rd January. On the road in 2016 they have lost two and won one away (Tenby). Wanderers will certainly be seeking a home victory and the prestige of defeating Dunvant. We have not yet faced them this season as our home game was called off but we now face them twice in 3 weeks with them visiting Broadacre on 16th April, so bragging rights for this game will set it up nicely for the return match .
For those that cannot travel to Stradey, Dunvant 2nd XV are home to neighbours Gorseinon in the last league game of the season and will appreciate some home support.
