We have not yet played Birchgrove as our scheduled home game last October was called off due to a waterlogged pitch and is rescheduled for 11th April.
Birchgrove are one of our younger WRU clubs only formed in 1990. Their first honours came as Champions of Division 4 West in 2009/10. Since then after a few seasons in Division 3 they have been on a meteoric rise in recent seasons. The Robins finished 3rd in 3 West Central A in 2017/18, were promoted to 2 West Central A emerging as Champions for 2018/19 and promoted to 1 West Central for this 2019/20 campaign. They currently sit in 5th place 11 points behind Dunvant but with 3 games in hand. They have played 12, won 9 and lost 3, scoring 26 tries for 39 points. At home they are a difficult team to beat having won 5 against Glynneath, Kenfig Hill, Tondu, Waunarlwydd and Ammanford. Their only home defeat was a tight 13-16 loss to Bridgend Athletic.
Dunvant are on a 5 match winning streak and will be trying hard to maintain the momentum and maintain 2nd place with 7 clubs behind us having up to 3 games in hand in a very tight table. Dunvant have played 15, won 10,drawn 2 and lost 3,scored 43 tries for 50 points. As always in this league, it looks like a very tight contest which could go either way.
Elsewhere our Youth are away at Waunarlwydd in the Ospreys West C League.. Our 2nd XV are now at home to Gorseinon in a friendly , kick off at 2.30.
