Howard was taken to Morriston Hospital after suffering chest pains it was found he had suffered at least one heart attack on Friday. Howard's planned admission for heart surgery two weeks ago was postponed by the Hospital and he was due to be re-admitted tomorrow. Fortunately, Howard was aware enough when he suffered the chest pains to telephone Dai Vaughan who immediately rang 999 for an ambulance.
Howard has since been given intense medical attention and is now in a stable and healthier condition. Dunvant Rugby Club are thinking of Howard and hope that he will make a full and speedy recovery.
