FORMER COACH & DUNVANT PRIMARY TEACHER PASSES AWAY

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our former 1st XV Coach. Phil Sterio was one of the most loved people in the Club, taking part in most things in our Club. He was a senior teacher in Dunvant Junior School and was also Sports master. He helped our Junior Section by advising the children to come and play for Dunvant, this helping the Junior Section no end. Phil bore his illness as he played his rugby-with courage
Many of us will have first met Phil playing for Waunarlwydd against Dunvant in the then newly formed Gower Cup in the early 1980's, an outstanding fast running no 8 playing in the West Wales League. In addition to coaching Dunvant, Phil also coached Penclawdd where he was also highly regarded. A keen golfer at Fairwood Golf Club and also a popular member of Dunvant Workingmen's club.
Our thoughts go out to Judith and the family. We will announce the funeral arrangements on this website when known.
R.I.P. Phil
