It is with great sadness that Dunvant RFC have to announce the passing of former player Simon Lewis, affectionally known as Lewi to his friends, passed away in Burlington near Toronto after a long battle with illness, pictured above with school friends Colin Whitecross and Kevin Thomas at the La Rochelle v Clemont match before Rugby World Cup in France.
Lewi attended Olchfa school and played in the West Wales leagues for Dunvant in the 1980's after playing for Swansea Schoolboys and Mumbles before emigrating to Canada with his wife Kay. He continued his rugby in Canada and also joined The Burlington Welsh Male Chorus, a regular visitor to the club on his annual return to Wales each year.
We send our deepest sympathies to Kay, his children Carly and Sion, grandson Haydn the family at this time.
