Dunvant won their first Tovali West Wales Challenge cup in 2000 at Stradey Park against Llandovery. For those not aware, before the National League structure was introduced the West Wales Championship was a very competitive league structure competed between local clubs from Carmarthen in the west to Glynneath in the east spread over 5 divisions.
As a club we were admitted to Section E in 1978 and steadily progressed through the leagues winning Section D in 1984, Section C in 1986 before winning Section A in 1990 ultimately winning the championship play off to become champions. The challenge cup was also competed by all sides in the league.

HEREYou will see some well known faces in the winning squad together with team manager Peter Thomas and kitman Brian "Buzza" Bevan holding the cup, also there are some young faces you may recognise. The match was also notable for being referee Derek Bevan's last senior match and a certain Nigel Owens running the line.
