Hywel Evans multitasked at this wedding, he was both wedding organist and Conductor/Accompanist for the 20+ singers who attended.
An interesting point emerged as Hywel played the St. David's Church electric organ for the official wedding programme and the Electronic Clavicord keyboard to accompany the singers.
Now to the wedding, Kate had chosen "Calon Lan" and "Myfanwy" to be sung before the ceremony. They had been completed some time before the bridge arrived slightly late.
The wedding hymns were "All things bright and beautiful" and "Bread of Heaven", which the congregation sang well, augmented by the singers.
Hywel switched to the Clavicord for the items sung during the register signing.
The bridal group emerged beaming to the recessional, and due to the inclement weather, the singers contributed "We'll keep a welcome" in the dry, inside the church, to the delight and amusement of the bridal
party and all the congregation.
NOTE: We take this opportunity to thank Hywel Evans for his repeated talented contriubution to the Rugby Club Singers events.
Late that day he accompanied International Soprano, Rebecca Evans (and Dunvant Male Choir) with much acclaim at Swansea's Brangwyn Hall.
