Second Pre Season Friendly WIN!!!

In our first Friday night fixture of the season we travelled to Taibach RFC for a 7pm kick off.

WIth twenty four players turning up for the encounter, competition for places this season is growing.

Taibach started the game with an early score that was converted within the first two minutes of play 7- 0. Dunvant RFC re-grouped and responded with a try out wide by Huw Samuel. The try went un-converted 7-5.

Taibach were next to sore with a second converted try of the game 14 - 5 to the home team. Dunvant responding with their second try of the game by Joe Woodward, converted by Brandon 14 - 12. Before half time Taibach again responded with a third converted try of the game 21 - 12 to the home side at the half time break.

The second half started positively for Dunvant with a try from replacement scrum half Ben Ley, the try remained un-converted 21 - 17. The game continued with breaks being made by both sides and strong defence all round. Taibach indiscipline resulted in Dunvant being awarded a penalty that was put between the sticks by Brandon 21 - 20 with the home side retaining the slight lead.

The game continued to be end to end stuff with both sides having scoring opportunities being held out by strong defence from both sides. In an attacking phase of play Brandon took an opportunity to slot over a drop goal to give Dunvant the lead for the first time in the game 21 - 23.

The last ten minutes of the game was nail biting stuff with both teams missing out on scoring opportunities due to strong defensive efforts from the defenders of both teams.

With seconds remaining of the game replacement right wing Joe Packer snuck in for the final scoring opportunity with a try out wide, the try remained un-converted. Final score 21 - 28 to Dunvant RFC.
