Following on from last seasons home win against Risca youth, today was a disjointed affair which didn't see us play to our strengths. Being a pre-season friendly with no restriction on rolling subs didn't really help us compose ourselves into the match.
Whitland were first on the scoresheet with a penalty - 3 - 0; Dunvant responding with an un-converted try from center Joe Woodward 5 - 3 with the conversion attempt coming off the upright. Whitland responded with a converted try before half time making the score 5 - 10 at the interval.
Whitland were first on the scoresheet in the second half with a penalty stretching the lead to 5 - 13, extending their lead further with a converted try 5 - 20.
Dunvant fought back with a try out wide from number eight Cory Bennett that went un-converted - 10 - 17. Whitland had the final say in the match with their third converted try of the game - Final Score - 10 - 27.
A further three first year player made their debuts for the youth today - Keston Rees-Lewis; Kyle Fitzgerald & Apichat Phailoo.
Today's game was a very disjointed affair with rolling substitutions, lets put the game behind us and move forward with the first league game of the season next week away to Vardre, last season's OD League champions.
