The youth were grateful to Bryncoch for hosting this match on Sunday instead of Saturday, this meant we could have a coach trip to Cardiff to watch the Ospreys quarter final! The less said about the result of that much the better. (We all still enjoyed the afternoon despite the Ospreys coming off second best).
Both sides were really evenly matched and the rugby flowed from end to end on occasions. The first score of the match was a try from winger Huw Samuel, converted by Zac Devey 0 - 7. The match continued to be a tightly fought encounter. With some ill discipline from Dunvant catching our defence out of position for Bryncoch to take the next score with a converted try 7 - 7. This was the score on the half time whistle.
The second half started much as the first with Full Back Tom Lewis crossing for an un-converted effort 7 - 12. Next on the score sheet were Bryncoch with a converted try to take the lead 14 - 12. With ten to fifteen minutes to go it was looking a little doubtful that we would come away with a win, that was until we started to get the show on the road.
A third try of the match came to Brandon Coughlin who was now out wide on the wing, the effort went unconverted 14 - 17. With our tails up full back Tom Lewis bagged his second of the match (eighth of the season), the effort being converted by Zac Devey 14 - 24. Then came the effort of the afternoon from centre - Sorry!! second row Jason Stagg who ran in from the halfway line for his third of the season. It all kicked off between the two teams following this score, Zac Devey keeping his composure to put over the final kick of the match. FInal score Bryncoch 14 - 31 Dunvant.
