The youth travelled away to Llangennech on Friday night to take on their youth team in a friendly. With all the rain that had fallen we were lucky that it remained dry for the match. It was a bitterly cold evening and the first evening match of the season for the youth with the frost glistening!!!
In a bad tempered first half there were a few dust ups between the teams, resulting in one player from each tem spending ten minutes in the bin cooling off. Dunvant took the lead with a well taken penalty from centre Joe Woodward 0 - 3, this was followed by an unconverted try by the home team 5 - 3. Just before the half time whistle Tom Lewis got in out wide on the left wing for an unconverted try 5 - 8 half time score.
The second half was again a tight affair, Dunvant's only score of the half coming from Ryan Parry. There was a close conversion attempt taken by debutant outside half Nicolas Maestri from out wide sadly the crossbar denied the attempt 5 - 13.
The game was ended early with a serious ankle injury to try scorer Ryan Parry. We all wish Ryan a speedy recovery from his injury.
Final score 5 - 13.
Let's take the positives from this game into our next home league match against Bonymaen on Saturday at Broadacre.
