Youth Lose Out In Pre-Season Friendly

Dunvant youth in the first outing of the season took on Risca Youth a team that we beat 21 - 17 last season.

Risca were first out of the blocks with a with two converted scores with no response from us as the home team, 0 - 14.

Just before the half time break Centre Huw Samuel crossed for the teams first try of the season, converted by fellow centre Joe Woodward. Score at the break 7 - 14.

The game was a tight affair with Risca opting for a kick at goal early in the second half to extend their lead to 7 -17. The game continued to be fiercely contested with Risca opting for another shot at goal that was pushed wide. With some strong attack and defence from both teams Risca got over for an unconverted effort out wide 7 - 22.

Dunvant continued to pressure the visitors in the final ten minutes but failed to capitalise.

Good effort from both teams in a keenly fought encounter. This was Risca's third pre season match and our first. We were a little rusty but hopefully onwards and upwards from here.

Charlie Leyshon gets the award for the first yellow card of the season.

Lets have good numbers in training and push on for a successful season.
