The youth travelled away this weekend to face an opposition that we knew little about, the encounter having been cancelled last weekend due to the weather.
The game was closely fought and could have gone either way until the final whistle.
Dunvant took the lead on the thirtieth minute of the first half with a fifth try of the season from leading try scorer Jack Phillips. Pontyberem coming back with a response four minutes later with a try of their own. Score at the half time break 5 - 5.
With both teams not giving much away Dunvant opted for a kick at goal twelve minutes into the second half with three points being taken by centre Joe Woodward 5 - 8.
With some good defence and attack from both teams there was no further score in the match, Pontyberem up until the last minute of the game could easily have spoiled our party!!
A good game to watch for the neutral supporter played in good spirits by all involved. A credit to youth rugby.
