You either act older than you are or you are older than you act

Dunvant faced Gorseinon against whom we had played well against before Xmas but had been frustrated not to get a bonus point. This time in a fiercely cold fixture Dunvant faced a much more formidable opponent who looked to have their ranks swelled by doppelgangers of players who had finished youth the year before, must have been youngers brothers with the same name its not only George Forman who gave all his kids the same name then.
Moving onto the action Dunvant had a strong team and a strong bench with 23 players available, we started as we carried on, on the front foot, we soon settled into our patterns but were thwarted by stern defence from Gorseinon, playing against the wind we were often punished by deep kicks from the under pressure defence, with Matt Richards, Marcus Potter and Joel Sinclair returning the kicks well with powerful runs, this was to be the best chance they would to have the ball as with such poor conditions for handling often passes didn't go to hand or were not in the right position to run on to.
After around 10 mins having battered Gorseinons defence almost constantly Max Hart powered over for a try close to the touchline, this was duly converted by Jac Newbury who slotted the conversion down the middle into the wind, that stand might be an eyesore but it is a good windbreaker, he was not to miss a kick all match. The team kept carrying well with Antonio Lezzi and Jack Thomas getting over the gain line, following the lead of Gwillym Powell and Alfie Thomas who were punching holes closer to the rucks and mauls, who were backed up by Sam Clarke who played his best game of the season and showing aggression that helped him carry well, as well as giving a delightful show and go to link up with his fellow forwards. In Jack Duffy we were getting excellent lineout ball which had been missing from the last couple of weeks, with Ethan Murphy having an excellent game at hooker given the conditions. Our driving lineout was excellent but we didn't use it as much as we should of, next time !
In the back row Aaron Perkins back from injury in the previous encounter was keen and hungry too much on occasion, words will be heard, though he was not the only player as our keenness probably cost us a handful or scoring opportunities as well, he was backed up by Rory Beswick who was destructive in both defence and attack.
It was yet another relenting attack that saw Gwillym Powell take the lead in the prop scoring table, again converted. Our dominance was now starting to pay dividends and as we got on the front foot chips over the top in very tricky conditions were proving to be very hard to cope with, with Matt Richards coming within an inch of gathering one chip from jac, then 5 minutes later another chip sat up Beautifully for Antonio Lezzi to gather shrug off a couple of players and print away to score from 35 yards out, excellent hands in poor conditions, this saw us leading 24-5 at half time.
In the second half weather condition made it harder to handle the ball, but despite that our handling was excellent, this meant we kept pressing and were held up over the line at least 3 times, and also some decisions at the base of the scrum lead to a few wrong options, by now we were giving all players we could a game and it wasn't until 5 minutes before time did Jack Thomas slide through the defence to score, this time with Jac off the pitch the conversion from out wide hit the post, next time Toni. This was a very rewarding victory against the elements and shows what we can do, so much so we gain feel we left a lot in the bag, one day we are going to empty it
