Second League Win Of The Season

With our third league game of the season we took on Morriston Youth at Broadacre.

The game could not have started worse for Dunvant with us losing two of our backline in the first few minutes of the game due to injury. We lost full back Chris Hughes and centre Tom Lewis just a couple of minutes into the game both having to leave the field at the came time in separate incidents (Bad luck or what!!).

Morrison Youth were first on the scoreboard with an un-converted try 0 - 5. Dunvant were next to strike back with a converted try from Danial Rogers (Buck) this was converted by Joe Woodward 7 - 5. With some good play from both sides Morriston conceded a penalty that was converted by Joe Woodward 10 - 5.

With both teams playing some exciting rugby Dunvant scored a try out wide by outside half Dannie White, the try went un-converted 15 - 5. The game continued in a positive mode for Dunvant with second row Sam Clarke busting over for a well earned try 20 - 5. Just before the half time whistle Morriston scored and converted a try 20 - 12.

Dunvant started the second half positively with a length of the field try scored by Joe Woodward, converted by Dannie White 27 - 12; Dunvant were again next on the scoresheet with a try from openside Dan Messer this went un-converted 32 - 12.

In the last ten minutes of the game we seemed to press the self destruct button with missed tackles and some poor play in comparison to the standard of play up to this point. Morriston scoring a total of 19 points with no response from us!! The last ten minutes of the game were nail biting with us only just holding onto the lead that we had built up. Final score 32 - 31.
