With a bit of ground frost first thing there was a shadow of doubt if the game would be played, with a 1pm inspection of the ground the sunshine had done its job to ensure this league encounter went ahead.
Dunvant started positively with a well taken forwards try by back rower for the day Ethan Murphy, conversion by Joe Woodward 7 - 0. South Gower fighting back soon after with a try under the sticks that was converted 7 - 7. With some strong forward play second row Morgan Bevan powered over out wide on the left through the opposition pack, try converted by Joe Woodward 14 - 7. Dunvant continued to pressurise the opposition through the forwards with tight head prop Connor Phillips powering over for his first of the season, try converted by Joe Woodward 21 - 7.
Score at the break 21 - 7.
The second half was a tight affair with strong defence and attack by both teams. In the twentieth minute of the half with the score still at 21 - 7 the away team saw Red with a card being given by the referee for foul play and back chat.
It was a further seven minutes before Dunvant registered a score with a solo effort by centre Joe Woodward under the sticks, gasping for breath he missed the easiest conversion of the afternoon 26 - 7.
In the last ten minutes of the match Dunvant continued to pile on the pressure with the one man advantage starting to tell. During this final period Dunvant managed a brace of tries. The first from strong driving play by replacement forward Alfie Thomas 31 - 7 and the second out wide following a kind bounce falling into the arms of replacement wing Evan Taylor - 36 - 7.
