On a dry Saturday afternoon for a change the youth took on local rivals Penclawdd in an Ospreys League OD encounter.
First off the mark were Penclawdd capitalising from a penalty award - 0 - 3.
It took us some time to get into the game and we didn't dominate as we should have. Once we started to get into a little bit of a rhythm with some strong driving play by the forwards the points started to come. First on the score sheet was second row Jack Phillips getting over for his third of the season converted by Joe Woodward 7 - 3. Again from close quarter forward play flanker Sean Tanner got across the line for his first of the season, converted again by Joe Woodward 14 - 3.
Just before the half time break with some strong running Joe Woodward crossed the line, converted on this occasion by scrum half Zac Devey - 21 - 3. This was the score at the half time break.
With some good attacking play by Penclawdd with some pace out wide, we found ourselves having to defend to keep the opposition out. MId way through the second half saw replacement Myles Matthews cross for his first of the season 26 - 3.
Penclawdd continued to battle hard and eventually had reward from their attacking play with the final score of the game coming from a converted try.
Final score 26 - 10.
