On a super wide field with probably the worst playing surface we have played on this season we managed to gan another bonus point win!
With the surface dictating that this was going to be a tough encounter Penclawdd were first out of the blacks taking a penalty opportunity in the sixth minute 3 - 0. Two minutes later saw us strike back with a try from second row Rhys Barrow, taking his first of the season well through some strong forward play 3 - 5. It was another twenty minutes before the next score with captain Morgan Bevan crossing for his first of the season 3 - 10. Just before the half time whistle with the field not lending itself to running rugby Penclawdd opted for another shot at goal 6 - 10 going into the break.
Second Half Stalemate! With good attack and defence from both teams considering the conditions the second half looked as though it was going to remain scoreless and we would be losing out on a valuable bonus point! That was until captain Morgan Bevan decided it was time to cross for his second try of the season in the same game! It was the thirty first minute of the game when Morgan crossed 6 - 15 still only nine points ahead!!. With a ten point margin required for the bonus point Joe Woodward kept his nerve on a sticky surface to ensure that our league momentum was maintained with a bonus point conversion - Final score 6 - 17!!
