It's still there! Decision making and defence

With more leaks than the Metropolitan police, Dunvants defence let the team down, there were plenty of reasons to blame for this loss, the evergrowing injury and unavailablity list, the number of players playing in unaccustomed positions, the poor attendance at training from some players who simply let themselves and the team down as they could not step up to the plate when required. However these were not the key reasons for the loss, as one on one tackles were they main reason for defeat, these proved a problem as the backs were laying too deep allowing Morristons backs to attack at pace, it also meant that the back row were stretched going backwards and forwards had to go back to try and go forward, often leaving gaps and incurring penalties for not releasing under pressure
The other main issue was the continuing poor decision making,at one time a penalty 5 minutes from the Morriston line was spread wide, not an issue if you have numbers and have committed the oppositions defenders, however the Morriston captain was being spoken to at length which meant that their backline was set ready, only being 5 m from the tap the defence came up quick, and by the time the ball had passed through 2 pairs of hand Dunvant had gone 30yds backwards.
Despite these ongoing issues, there were significant periods of Dunvant pressure, the backs handling had been better than recent games, and at times a bit more luck would have seen 3 or 4 more tries
Ciaran Williams and Sam Hawkes formed a good centre partnership, which had the ability to break defences, unfortunately the chances were at time limited, however returning centre Ben Morgan playing on the wing made some excellent runs and scored the teams only try.
All the issues the team face are easily fixable, hopefully the players will soon start to take on what they are being told, as there is an underlying skill set to turn the season round, with a cup semi final set for April 19th, the next 4 weeks will define our season, lets hope we can look at a good month, eliminate the bad play and if necessary win ugly
